This is exactly the time for big carp! The leaves on the trees catch amazing colors and some tree species are already losing their ornament. I wanted to have a real chance of catching a warrior in the fall colors, but at the same time I longed for peace. The combination of my wishes gave me the idea to go to one very interesting place on a small river. My friend took me to this place two years ago, we hunted here several times, he has caught beautiful fish from here, but I have never been able to catch even a small carp here. It was decided… Even at home, I carefully prepared everything, I like it so much, come to the water already 100% ready. The advantage was that I knew what awaited me on the spot, that it would definitely not be an easy catch! So I tied a new shock leader to both rods, the shock line on average 0.31 - 0.50 was the right choice. I have also prepared new assemblies, lately I like to use a "D rig" type rig with a ring for using "bait floss", on a river with a length of at least 35 cm. I even decided in advance to find the B17 in the "Pro Active" version under the hook, as the water was only about 12 degrees. Unfortunately, I came to the water only at dusk, but I know the place relatively well, so I went to prick the pitchfork on the classic place and my main activity was to observe the surface. And that there was something to look at! The fish showed up exactly where I was waiting for them. At that moment, I really felt very good and I believed in an early shot! After about 15 minutes, which I spent watching the fish activity, I was clear where I would send my assemblies. The first assembly with the 20mm sinking B17 itself flew to a steep edge just a few meters from the shore. I also just swing the second rod not far from the shore, but this time I choose a greater depth and an interesting pit. Both places are slightly sugared with halibut pellets and a handful of baits of the same flavor for each rod. Since I know very well how warfare the local carp from this magical river can be, I place a lead casing on the ends of the rods for safety, as I can't have the brake fully released due to the slightly increased flow. Then I start building a brolly, which I have relatively close to the rods, so that I have them within reach and I was able to react to a possible shot in time, it is very important here. This place is full of all kinds of bundles, sunken trees and sharp edges. It is necessary to adapt not only the final assembly to these difficult conditions, but also the whole way of hunting and possible fighting. The basis is larger hooks, a proper shock and a reliable rig material. They have to rely on everything so that you can really lean into a possible fight and not let the fish go from where you can hardly get it. Another interesting condition for a successful hunt in this place is silence! This, of course, generally applies to hunting near the shore. I try not to stomp, not to throw things and the basis is to park the car as far away from the water as possible and, above all, not to knock on the door. In this spirit, I prepare everything for the night. I only have the essentials I need for hunting, I leave the rest in the car. Once I have everything ready to sleep, I'm still going to lightly feed my chosen places. It is already completely dark, so I try to light up the headlight at least. Hunting on a small river has an incredible charm, but it also has its rules and you must fully respect them! I move as calmly as possible, I scatter the feeding with emotion and I'm just waiting to see what happens. And to my great surprise, nothing happened that evening. After 10 pm, I disgustedly pull the rods out of the water, I classically insist on this nonsensical restriction, and before I go to bed, I prepare everything for the morning. I just lean my rods on the brolly, charge the new baits, prepare the PVA and go to bed.

16-02-2022 - Autumn is already in full swing and unfortunately I had a lot of work and family responsibilities at the beginning, so I didn't get much bank time. The water is already cooling relatively quickly, so you really need to choose the right places where the fish will stay at the moment. Of course, it depends a lot on the current weather. One October weekend I had the opportunity to go to the water for the night, I hesitated for several days where I would actually go. There are slightly fewer people by the water than in the summer months, but really passionate fishermen spend as much time by the water as possible during this period.
